Is it Time for a Fill-in?

Are you taking yourself way too seriously? Are you steadily counting the number of mistakes you make? If you are, stop it! I’m here to say it’s time to be happy regardless of the circumstances. If you don’t, depression and resentment will knock on your door and take over your house. Now we don’t want that, do we?

How we view ourselves directly affects how we see the world. If you have a miserable day, it creates havoc on your outlook on life.

I’m guilty, too, of putting more energy into mishaps than come-ups. It’s easy to question everyone and everything around you. The endless wondering why bad things are happening to you. But have you thought about what went right for you? For example, you get caught at a red light. You start cursing and hitting the steering wheel only to find a car accident just occurred up ahead. Or here’s another one, you worked your azz off to get the job promotion only not to get it. Shortly after, there were budget cuts, and the position was eliminated. Sometimes you have to let life have its way.

You know I'm an analogy person if you’ve read enough of my articles.

It’s the weekend. You’ve got everything done on your to-do list except your nails. Since the last visit, you’ve broken two tips, and stress chewed off the others.

7 steps to a fill-in:

  1. Choose your color-Life gives you an ample amount of chances and opportunities. You get to decide what you want. The drawback, you can only visualize how it will turn out. Nobody knows what’s around the corner. Life is the same as choosing that next nail color. It looks good in the bottle, but you don’t know until you try it.

  2. Remove old polish-Initially, you liked your choice, but after the newness wore off, you’re no longer feeling it. Mistakes happen to all of us. It’s what you learn from it that matters. Get over those missteps, remove the negativity, and press forward.

  3. Buff the nail-Rough spots will keep you stuck and seeing no way out. I’m sure you’ve experienced times when you couldn’t see your way out, yet you did. Life is tough, but don’t let it harden you. Brush off the bitterness.

  4. Prime your nail-You’ve gotten rid of what doesn’t benefit you. Now it’s time to make sure you have no leftover mess. Prepare for your next move.

  5. Apply acrylic- Fill in the gaps with happiness and understanding that you’re good enough.

  6. File and Buff-Your plans have been formulated. Assess them, and revise if necessary. Keep working on it until you have the desired outcome.

  7. Paint-Your blueprint is complete. There’s nothing left to do but sit back and relish the accomplishments.

Mistakes, failures, and stumbles don’t define who you are or what you’re capable of being. Accept optimism over pessimism. Fortunately, with every breath you’re allowed to breathe, there’s an opportunity to do a do-over.
